Meet our Brewer!

Tom Newman

Tom is a chartered engineer by trade and has had over twenty years experience in the brewing industry, having complete training at VLB Berlin in brewing microbiology and at Brew Lab in Brewing Science.

He has built a number of breweries around Europe and trained over 50 brewers from the UK and overseas. He has been a lecturer at Brew Lab and Brew School and also offers consultancy to a number on breweries in Wales and further afield.

Tom has been appointed one of Wales' first beer sommeliers - and is one of just 12 in the UK - by international real ale organisation the Beer Academy.

Tom had to train for two years to earn the accolade, and sat three exams on the history and culture of beer, its taste and composition, and how it can be used to complement food from all over the world.

Inspired by the natural and unspoilt West Wales Coast where they are brewed, the Crafty Range of Contemporary Craft Ales use the finest malts and hops creating a riot of aroma and flavour!
